Who I Am &
What I Carry
Rachel Bussell is a consultant, mentor, musician and author devoted to helping churches and worship leaders walk in the presence of God with credibility, depth and prophetic clarity.

Rachel's Story
Brought up in a musical home, I was surrounded by Classical, Country and Gospel music for as long as I can remember. As a third-generation pianist, I discovered early on that I had a natural ear for music and began composing from the age of six.
At 13, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and by 18, during my college years, it hit my body with force. With my education interrupted, I put my talents to use from home — teaching and writing became my lifeline.
Over the years, I have taught privately and in schools; run the music department for years 3–11; directed church, school and community choirs; co-written and performed on numerous local artists’ albums; recorded and released my first solo piano EP; written music for weddings; and helped equip and train worship teams in churches across England and abroad.
I’ve been part of what was The Christian Centre (now Heart Church, Nottingham) since my teenage years. I continue to serve faithfully on the Worship Ministry and Intercessors Team, as well as on the Creative Team. My local church is a constant source of family, accountability and spiritual covering, shaping both who I am and how I serve.
Through every season, my motivation has been the same: to release and inspire the gifts in others and, through my own music, to bring peace, rest, and joy to those who listen. Today, my story weaves together consultancy, writing, music and mentorship, all under one conviction — that worship is about being in God’s presence and carrying it with credibility and authenticity wherever I go.
My Approach
Consultant
I partner with churches for specific seasons, helping their teams grow, align and go deeper. My role is not permanent placement, but to equip and release.
Author
Writing allows me to explore and share the themes of intimacy, discipleship and worship, pointing people back to God’s presence.
Musician
Whether through my EP, live worship or collaborative projects, music has always been my way of expressing and carrying what God has given me.
Mentor
I walk alongside worship leaders and creatives, challenging, encouraging and drawing out what God has placed within them.
Accountability
& Covering
I’m grateful to be supported by a council of reference — John Fahy (Leader, Eagles Nest), Jayne Green (Senior Sales Trainer & Coach), and Wayne Raper (Elder & Head of Pastoral at Heart Church) — who offer wisdom, accountability and spiritual oversight.
I’m also surrounded by an intercessory team of people from across different churches in Nottingham who faithfully pray for me and the work I do.
Their support keeps everything rooted in prayer and integrity.
